Prof. Peter Eberhard is a Professor at the Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. After graduating from the University of Stuttgart, Germany with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Eberhard worked as a Research Associate at the University of Stuttgart and as a Visiting Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, USA before returning to Stuttgart for his doctoral degree. Subsequently, he has held positions at UC Berkeley, Friedrich, Alexander University of Erlangen, Nuremberg and currently he is the Director and Full Professor at the Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart with nearly 35 scientists that work with over sixty companies including Porsche, Daimler and Bosch. Prof. Peter Eberhard is also the speaker of the senate of the professors at University of Stuttgart. Apart from his academic postings, he has held numerous posts at the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. His research interests range over Multibody systems, Mechatronics and Controls, Optimisation, Robotics, Biomechanics and Meshless particle systems. He has authored over 500 peer reviewed publications and books in his field of expertise.
