Human Powered/Electric Hybrid Vehicle(Pedal Car)When considering alternative energy sources for a single passenger vehicle, the most available form is direct power given by human effort. This energy is most frequently utilized in two wheeled bicycles. However bicycles have certain drawbacks such as, exposure to weather & sunlight, less carriage capacity, low efficiency of power train, limited millage and most importantly less stability of the vehicle thus poor safety of the rider. Three wheeled vehicles though they are much stable than bicycles, also have few of the downfalls stated above. The friction of tires is a main fact that has to be considered when designing vehicles. Two wheeled vehicles are much efficient compared to three wheeled or four wheeled vehicles. Considering most of the facts stated above a novel concept of two wheeled vehicle with two support wheels have been designed, built and tested for suitability of satisfying the above given problem.

Another novel concept of power summing of electrical power and human power using an epicyclic gear train was designed, built and tested. This novel feature has revolutionized the electric pedal hybrid vehicle technology. This concept has reduced the vehicle energy usage, increased the efficiency of the vehicle and the range of the vehicle considerably than other hybrid vehicles. A vehicle body was designed and built so that the rider is safe from the external environment.
