Design and Development of an Automated System for Drilling and Tapping of Screw Holes in Refrigerator CabinetsAdvances in automating manufacturing processes have been driven by several competitive forces, such as continual need to improve productivity and product quality and to decrease manufacturing costs. Some of the leading refrigerator manufacturers are planning to increase their production rates. The cabinet of the refrigerator is fabricated in a single production line starting with a sheet metal. This project is focused on the specific point in the production line where the drilling and tapping operations of the refrigerator cabinet are being carried out for the holes which are used to mount the door to the cabinet.
