Call for Applications - M.Eng/ PG Diploma In Manufacturing Systems Engineering 2023/2024

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Moratuwa is pleased to announce the commencement of the Postgraduate programme “Manufacturing Systems Engineering” for the academic year 2023/2024 and invites applications for admission from suitably qualified candidates. The course is offered commencing from June 2023 and will be offered in modular form. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1 The Degree of Bachelor of Science of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa in Mechanical Engineering / Textile and Clothing Technology / Materials Science and Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Electrical Engineering, OR
2 Any other Engineering degree of at least four year duration, from a recognized university, in a relevant field of specialization as may be approved by the Senate, OR
3 Any recognized category of membership of a recognized professional Institute, obtained through an academic route, with a minimum of one year of recognized appropriate experience obtained after the membership, as may be approved by the Senate.
   
PROGRAMME OF STUDIES

Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip.): One year (part-time)

  • Taught courses and laboratory work, assignments, seminars, and field visits
  • All academic work will normally be conducted on: Saturdays and Sundays

Master of Engineering (M.Eng.): Two Years (part-time)

  • Successful completion (overall GPA not less than 2.5) of the academic requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma and additional mandatory individual research project leading to a dissertation meeting the minimum duration condition of the degree.
COURSE FEES
Application Fee : Rs. 2,000/= per application (payable with application)
Registration Fee : Rs. 2,000/= per year (payable at registration)
Examination Fee : Rs. 500/= per year (payable at registration)
Tuition Fee :

Rs. 400,000/= (can be paid in two installments of Rs.200,000/= each)

Rs. 50,000/= for an additional year (up to the maximum duration of the programme)
Library Deposit :

Rs. 2,000/= non - refundable library fee

Rs. 2,500/= per item, up to 6 items (optional and refundable)
 
APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Application forms can be downloaded from the programme web page OR obtained via email by sending an email to msesec.uom[at]gmail.com. Duly completed application together with the requested documents (scanned to a single PDF file) to be sent to msesec.uom[at]gmail.com. Application fee of Rs. 2,000 should be paid to university account BOC : 70993353 with the reference “MEng – MSE -23” and attach a proof of payment with the application.
