Transport Research Forum (TRF) - 2022

The 15th Transport Research Forum (TRF) was held on 03rd December 2022 as a hybrid event at the Transport Engineering Postgraduate (PG) Room, 2nd floor, Civil Engineering building, with the participation of eminent academics, undergraduate and postgraduate research students, industry practitioners, related government institutes and international experts in the fields of Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Planning. TRF is an annual conference organised by the Transportation Engineering Division of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The prime objective of this conference is to create a platform for researchers in the transportation field to build up their research careers and to share their research findings with other colleagues and the industry.

The research forum was welcomed by Prof. Wasantha Mampearachchi, the conference chair and addressed by the Head of the Department, Prof. Chintha Jayasinghe, highlighting the importance of sharing research outcomes with the industry.

Prof. (Mrs.) Regine Gerike, Head of the Chair of Integrated Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering, Dean of the ‘Friedrich List’ Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Technische University Dresden, Germany, delivered the keynote speech on the Visions and Strategies for Urban Transport. The keynote speech was followed by six technical sessions on a variety of research areas.

Selected full papers from the conference will be published in the IESL Journal Special Edition due by the 31st of January 2023.
