Prof Malik Ranasinghe has been appointed as the new Chairman of ICTA

The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) announced that Professor Malik Ranasinghe of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa has assumed duties as ICTA Chairman and Ms. Vishaka Nanayakkara as Director.

ICTA is the apex Information and Technology institution of the Government of Sri Lanka. ICTA assists the Cabinet of Ministers in the formulation of the National Policy on ICT and provides all information necessary for policy formulation. ICTA is a wholly owned institution by the Government of Sri Lanka, which was formulated and operationalized to implement the e-Sri Lanka Development Project funded by the World bank. ICTA is the backbone behind some of the most impactful national ICT projects such as the National Fuel Pass, Pre-Arrival Clearance system of the Bandaranaike International Airport, Contact Tracing App of the government, my health Sri Lanka App and the main Covid19 web portal of the government.
