In a sincere endeavour to seek blessings from the Triple Gem and create a spiritually enriching year, the Department of Civil Engineering organized a Pirith Chanting ceremony and an Alms Giving event in collaboration with the Department academic staff, non-academic staff and undergraduate students. Ceremonies were held on the 12th and 13th of May, 2023 at the Department premises.
Pirith Chanting was carried out over the night on 12th May by a venerable chief thero at the forefront, joined by several other monks. As dawn broke, marking the culmination of the ceremony, an arms-giving ceremony was taken place on 13th May, symbolizing the act of generosity and compassion. Academic staff, non-academic staff, and students of the Civil Engineering Department eagerly participated in the event seeking solace and blessings for the upcoming year.
The profound impact of this remarkable event will continue to inspire and uplift the university community in the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and personal growth.
