Dr Sumudu Herath is awarded the Rising Star award at the annual award ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF), based in California, United States. Dr Sumudu was selected for this award during his doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge, where he carried out his research work on the multiscale modeling of technical textiles for space applications. Prior to his admission to Cambridge, Dr Sumudu Herath maintained an excellent track record in both academic and extra-curricular activities during his high school and University days.
