The highly anticipated annual entertainment event, "Civil Padura 2023," was held at the Civil Engineering Department premises on the 21st of September, 2023. This event was coordinated by the Civil Engineering Society (CES) with the guidance of the Head of the Department, Prof. (Mrs.) Chintha Jayasinghe and also with the pivotal leadership from the Civil 2019 Batch. The event commenced at 6:30 pm with the ceremonial lighting of the oil lamp. The event was well-attended by the academic/non-academic staff and undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Civil Engineering Department. The venue was adorned with colorful decorations, creating an inviting and warm atmosphere.
The evening's program showcased the immense talents of the Civil Engineering students. Attendees were treated to a delightful array of performances, including a captivating drama piece, several mesmerizing dance routines, and over 25 musical performances. These melodious renditions were expertly accompanied by students from the Classical Music Society, who provided instrumental support in the form of a live orchestra. One of the amazing highlights of the evening was the captivating musical performances by the academic staff.
As the night reached its grand finale, the sheer number of students from various departments converging on the venue was a testament to the event's resounding success. The enthusiastic crowd that had gathered painted a vivid picture of the event's triumph. "Civil Padura 2023" once again proved to be a remarkable celebration of talent and unity within the Civil Engineering Department, leaving all attendees with unforgettable memories of a night filled with entertainment and camaraderie.
