Best oral presentation Award at 75th Annual Sessions of Sri Lanka Association for the Advanced Science 2019

Ms. Aaruga Selvaratnam, postgraduate student supervised by Dr (Mrs.) J.C.P.H.Gamage, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa, won the best oral presentation award on her Undergraduate research project, the paper titled “Effect of anchorages on flexural behaviour of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) – strengthened reinforced concrete curved beams at 75th Annual sessions of Sri Lanka Association for the Advanced Science 2019 – Session C (Engineering, Architecture, and Surveying) held in University of Colombo on 13th December 2019. Total of 174 abstracts were presented orally and through posters on various areas of science and technology. Among 21 oral presentations in Session C, Ms. Aaruga Selvaratnam presented her undergraduate research findings on the application of CFRP composites for concrete curved beams. A finite element model of CFRP-strengthened concrete curved beams with and without anchors was presented during this session.
