The Annual General Meeting of the Civil Engineering Society (CES) of University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 2nd May 2023 at the Civil Engineering Department Auditorium.
New office bearers of the CES were appointed from both the second- and third-year students. The appointed chief office bearers are Mr. Dilshan Sanitu (President), Ms. Paboda Jayawardane (Secretary) and Mr. Yasiru Udana (Junior Treasurer).
At the meeting, heartfelt appreciation was expressed by Prof. (Mrs.) Chintha Jayasinghe, the Head of the Department, Dr. Pasindu Weeerasinghe, the Students' Advisor, and Dr. Loshaka Perera, the Senior Treasurer, as they acknowledged the remarkable achievements of the society. They emphasized the invaluable contributions and services provided by the Civil Engineering Society to both the department and the broader community.
The meeting was enriched with entertaining performances by talented students, showcasing the diverse talents present within the engineering community and also the meeting witnessed the highly anticipated release of the second edition of the CES Newsletter, titled "CES Cloister."
At the meeting, Dr. Loshaka Perera was honoured for his remarkable service and the Head of the department announced the appointments of Dr. Pasindu Weerasinghe as the new Senior Treasurer and Dr. K.H.S.M Sampath as the new Staff Advisor.
