Beam-column frame structures are inefficient in their material usage as material near the neutral axis
are under-stressed. Form finding techniques can be used to find optimal forms for structures to carry
loads predominantly as axial loads, thus improving their efficiency in carrying loads. Analysis of such
forms can be done using simple graphic static analysis and can be complemented with Finite Element
Models. Research conducted under this topic includes form finding and analysis of compression only
forms.
