3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering (EECon 2021)

EECon 2021, the Third International Electrical Engineering Conference organized by the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 24th September on virtual mode. EECon 2021 was technically cosponsored by IEEE Sri Lanka Section, and Sri Lanka Chapters of IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and IEEE Power Electronics Society.

Gold Winner of Darrel Chong Student Activity Award 2021 IEEE for The Countryside (“Gammeddata IEEE Api”) - Phase 2

Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering emerge winners at the 1st Sri Lankan Power Engineering Conference

The paper “Simulation and hardware implementation of automatic load balancer for distribution transformers” based on the final year undergraduate project conducted by Mr. Rajitha V Liyanage, Mr. Muditha Senevirathna and Mr. Akalanka Kanankege, supervised by Prof. Anura Wijayapala, Prof. JP Karunadasa and Eng. Arosha Fernando, emerged winners of the best paper contest of the 1st Sri Lankan Power Engineering Conference held virtually on 24th October 2021.

25th Annual General Meeting of the Electrical Engineering Society

The Annual general meeting of the Electrical Engineering society (EESoc) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa was held for the 25th consecutive time on the 30th of July 2021 from 6.00 pm onwards in virtual mode with the presence of the Head of the Department Prof. K.T.M.U. Hemapala, other academic staff members and undergraduates of Department of Electrical Engineering.

Electrical Engineering Society Commenced O/L Mathematics Seminar Series for Rural Schools

Electrical Engineering Society (EESoc) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa initiated a G. C. E. Ordinary Level Mathematics Seminar series as  “සිප්දරණ". The first seminar was successfully held on the 13th , 14th  and 20th  of February at Kelegama Kanishta Vidyalaya, Digannawa, Nikaweratiya.

Electrical Engineering Society Renovated a School Laboratory

Electrical Engineering Society (EESoc) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa, took the lead in initiating a program to renovate the school laboratory of Kelegama Kanishta Vidyalaya in Nikaweratiya. That school is located in a very rural village with lack of many of the facilities. The renovation was successfully commenced on 21st December at the school premises with the presence of Dr. Thushara Rathnayaka, Dr.
