On 26 February 2026, we bid farewell to Eng. AVP Vijitha, who retires from the Department of Earth Resources Engineering, University of Moratuwa after a remarkable career of teaching, mentoring, and guiding countless students.

The application window is now open for the Master of Science in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems [MSc (RS & GIS)], Master of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems [MRS & GIS], and Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems [PGDip (RS & GIS)] for the 2025/2026 intake.
We extend our congratulations to Dr. L.P.S. Rohitha on his appointment as Head of the Department, effective 26 June 2025. We welcome his leadership as he begins this new chapter.
