The Department of Transport Management & Logistics Engineering (TMLE) successfully conducted the fourth and fifth sessions of the Research Dissemination Meeting (RDM) series during July and August 2026.
The RDM series, introduced as a monthly platform, aims to strengthen the research culture within the department by promoting knowledge sharing, constructive discussions, research collaborations, and feedback among postgraduate students and academic staff.
The sixth session, held on 30th July 2026, featured a research presentation by Ms. Fathima Nasfa (MSc Candidate) on “Developing a Risk Management Framework to Improve Resilience in Maritime Supply Chains: For the Apparel Industry in Sri Lanka.” The presentation provided an opportunity for participants to engage in academic discussion and share valuable insights related to the research.
The seventh session, held on 25th August 2026, featured two research presentations. Mr. Harshana Ranathunga (MSc Candidate) presented his work titled “Conducting Systematic Review Through Bibliometric Analysis: Operationalising the Workflow with Bibliometrix in R.” This was followed by a presentation by Mr. Francis Maxwel (PhD Candidate) on “Sustainable E-Bus Integration and Traffic Optimization on Corridors Leading to Urban Centers Through Agent-Based Modeling.”
Both sessions brought together postgraduate researchers and academic staff, fostering meaningful discussions across diverse areas of transport, logistics, supply chain management, and sustainability. The continued success of the RDM series reflects the Department’s commitment to creating a vibrant research environment and encouraging the dissemination of knowledge and collaborative research within the academic community.
