Prof. Stefan Seuring (Chair of Supply Chain Management, University of Kassel, Germany) and Prof. Ralf Wagner (Chair of Sustainable Marketing, University of Kassel, Germany) visited the University of Moratuwa during the period of 27th February and 3rd March 2023. The visit started with a fascinating discussion between the distinguished professors and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa. Prof. Asoka Perera, Dr. Niles Perera and Dr. Amila Thibbotuwawa, representing the Department of Transport Management and Logistics Engineering, and Ms. Jayani Sudusinghe and Mr. Biman Darshana Hettiarachchi, representing the University of Kassel, also participated in the discussion.
During the week, they delved into managing foreign grants and the development of non-academic staff through a thought-provoking workshop led by Ms. Rima Schmauch of the University of Kassel. Later, Prof. Stefan Seuring, alongside Ms. Jayani Sudusinghe and Mr. Biman Hettiarachchi, led an enlightening workshop that explored "Performing impactful research: A comprehensive guide to conducting Systematic Literature Review." This insightful workshop was organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Moratuwa. To round off the visit, a public seminar was held on Creating Sustainable Value, which took place on March 3rd, 2023, at the Department of Transport Management & Logistics Engineering. The multidisciplinary Center for Supply Chain, Operations and Logistics Optimization organized this fruitful visit from University of Kassel that will undoubtedly inspire and empower the academic community for years to come.
