Two of our students had the prestigious opportunity to participate in the 2025 China Merchants C Blue Training Program, a global initiative designed to nurture young talent in the fields of port operations, logistics, and maritime trade. The C Blue Program, organized by China Merchants Port (CMPort) and sponsored by the China Merchants Foundation, offers participants a comprehensive curriculum including visits to leading enterprises to explore cutting-edge technological innovations in the transportation industry. The program also provides valuable exposure to China’s history, culture, and economic development, while covering key topics such as global trade, green shipping, and infrastructure innovation.

This opportunity was facilitated through CICT, where the students previously completed their internships. The program’s initial engagement began with a session conducted by the Chinese Ambassador on 18th August, attended by Prof. Niles Perera and Dr. Indika Sigera, representing the Department. Following this, Mr. Asiri (21 Batch) and Mr. Dilshan (20 Batch) traveled to China to take part in the C Blue Training Program. Upon completion, they received certificates and returned with valuable insights and a deeper appreciation for China’s role in global maritime trade and environmental advancements.
This achievement highlights our department’s growing global exposure and commitment to developing industry-ready graduates.
