The Department of Town and Country Planning at the University of Moratuwa is pleased to announce that the title of its undergraduate degree has been officially changed to Bachelor of Science Honours in Urban Informatics and Planning, effective from the 2021 intake onwards.
This title change was formally approved by the University Grants Commission at its 1140th meeting held on 5th February 2025, following the proposal submitted with the endorsement of the University Senate and Council.
The updated title reflects the Department’s commitment to staying aligned with global academic and industry trends. It represents a significant step in recognizing the evolving knowledge, technical skills, and interdisciplinary competencies of our graduates, positioning them for broader career opportunities in both local and international planning sectors.
