Senior Professor, Department of Transport and Logistics Management, University of Moratuwa

Amal S. Kumarage is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Senior Professor in the Department of Transport & Logistics Management at the University of Moratuwa and Honorary Professor at the University of Wollongong, Australia. He is also the Chairman, National Transport Commission and an International Vice President of CILT's global body. In an advisory capacity to the Government of Sri Lanka, he has been instrumental in several important policy, strategy and feasibility studies in transport, highways, urban development and planning sectors. He has also served as an Advisor to the Governments of the Maldives and undertaken studies for the World Bank, ADB and JICA in Sri Lanka and other countries.

Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara

Professor Gunapala Nanayakkara is presently the Director General of the National Institute of Education and the Academic Advisor for the Graduate School of Management and the academic study center of Open University Malaysia in Colombo. He was the founder Director and Senior Professor of Management Studies, Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka who pioneered advanced management education in Sri Lanka by setting up the first MBA degree program in the country in 1981. He went on to establish the Postgraduate Institute of Management in 1986. In addition, he served as the Vice-Chairman, University Grants Commission, 2006-2008 as well taking the initiative to set up the PIM International Center in the Emirates (2007), serving as Managing Director of the Center from 2007-2009. Currently PIM has produced over 3,000 MBAs and 340 postgraduate diploma graduates.

Prof. Nanayakkara holds BPA(Spcl.)(Vidyo) 1970, MPA(York) 1976, Ph.D(Carleton) 1980D.Lit (Sab) 2005. His key academic areas of expertise are: Human resources management, Strategic management, Research methods, and Management communication. Teaching at undergraduate, graduate, executive, and doctoral level in Sri Lanka since 1980, professor Nanyakkara has unparalleled experience in professional management training. His international experience includes teaching at the Institute of International Development and Cooperation, University of Ottawa (Sept.-Dec. 1982); the Whittemore School of Business, University of New Hampshire and the post of Associate Professor of HR Management, Faculty of Administration, University of New Brunswick, Canada.

Prof. Nanayakkara has served as Governing Council member in a number of public organizations including Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, National Institute of Education, National Institute of Technology Education and National Institute of Business Management; Vice President of Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) and served as CEO of Sussex College Network under the Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka (2009-10).

Prof. Asoka Perera is a senior lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa and the Head of the Division of Construction Engineering and Management. Prof. Perera is specialized in Project Management (PM), Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Aided Estimating and Cost effective Construction Methods and Materials with number of research and book publications. He has awarded for his achievements in academic and research sector while he is specialized in software development related to MIS and PM.
