A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Moratuwa (UoM) and DMS Garment Technologies (Pvt) Ltd on 28th November 2022 to support the training and development of 3D CAD technologies at the CAD Laboratory of the Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering. The MoU will further build up networks between DMS Garment Technologies (Pvt) Ltd on behalf of Browzwear Global (Pvt) Ltd and other related companies within the industry. The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa- Senior Prof. N. D. Gunawardena, and Director of the DMS Garment Technologies (Pvt) Ltd - Mr. Michael Matthysz. Dr Jayamali De Silva-Senior Lecturer in charge of the CAD Laboratory coordinated the MoU with the guidance of Dr Nandula Wanasekara- Head of the Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering. As part of the MoU, the CAD Laboratory received 10 Browzwear VSticther licenses with the latest version of the software to strengthen the digital prototyping courses as part of the curriculum. With these cutting-edge technologies, the department will be able to provide graduates to align with the growing demands of knowledge and practice-based professional career within the Apparel industry.
