Mrs. Achini Ranaweera, a lecturer (probationary) from Department of Textile and Clothing Technology has been awarded the Prize for Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) 2018 Best Paper Award at the Doctoral Colloquium held from 1st-2nd December 2018 at University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia 2018 for her paper titled “What you touch, touches you: The impact of haptics on consumer brand impressions”.She received a certificate and a monetary prize of AUD$2000.
Mrs Achini Ranaweera undertakes her PhD in the School of Adverting, Marketing and Public Relations, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. Her PhD research is supervised by Professor Brett Martin and Dr HS Jin.
The doctoral colloquium had close to 50 participants and the Judge panel consisted with 4 high calibre marketing academics. Since its inception ANZMAC has continued to lead marketing research through across Australian, New Zealand andAsia-pacific region and across the global for 20 years. ANZMAC is considered one of the top academic conference for marketing scholars.
Mrs. Achini Ranaweera has also presented two papers at the ANZMAC main conference titled “Haptic information and consumer brand impressions and “The power of touch: some empirical evidence held from 3-5th December 2018 at the National Wine Centre of Australia, Adelaide, Australia. She was also the session chair of consumer behaviour: sensory consumption track.
