Mora Craft Studio is an outcome of a request made by Family Health Bureau (FHB), Ministry of Health Sri Lanka from the Department of Textile and clothing technology, University of Moratuwa in forming a special online programme to empower and assure the psychological wellbeing of youth community in Sri Lanka during the Covid19 pandemic lockdown. From the Textile Department, Dr Rivini Mataraarachchi, Dr Ayesha Wickramasinghe, Dr Sumith Goprua, and Mr Chinthaka Dharmakeerthi have been working on this collaboration under the guidance of Head of the Department, Prof Samudrika Wijayapala while the Fashion Design and Product Development undergraduates extended support with their creative craft interests in producing videos toward this digital space. This ongoing social innovation project presents its creation through Mora Craft Studio YouTube channel and is an fascinating flatform in globalizing the local crafts and the creativity of youth for youth.
