Dr. Gayani K. Nandasiri, a senior lecturer attached to the Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering, delivered an invited talk on “Advances in active compression: novel materials and technology” in the Annual meeting of the International Compression Club (ICC) held on 3rd May 2024 at Excel London, UK. The annual meeting of ICC is a prestigious event where all the leading researchers in the field of compression therapy disseminate their novel findings, devices and technologies. This year’s annual meeting of the International Compression Club was held in parallel to 34th Conference of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA2024). The session was chaired by Dr. Giovanni Mosti, the president of the ICC and Dr. Jean Patrick Benigni, both renowned researchers in the area of compression therapy. Many of the leading researchers in the field of compression therapy and representatives from the leading compression garment manufacturing companies presented their findings at the event. Most importantly, consensus was reached on how to perform studies on compression with constructive discussions by the leading researchers in the field.
