About the Programme

The Department of Computational Mathematics proudly introduces the short-term Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence for Professionals to address the growing demand for AI expertise across industries.

This programme is designed for professionals from diverse domains who wish to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, generative AI, and trustworthy AI systems.

Participants will learn how to conceptualize, design, and implement AI-based solutions for real-world applications — enabling data-driven innovation and informed decision-making within their own professional environments.

Comprehensive Introduction to AI

Theoretical foundation of AI, the evolution of paradigms for constructing AI solutions, creative synergy across paradigms, and the road ahead — covering:
  • Future challenges & the question of singularity
  • Hallucination & trustworthiness of AI systems
  • Principles of Responsible AI

Major Paradigms for Building AI Solutions

Knowledge-driven and data-driven approaches, and the creative synergy between them:
  • Knowledge engineering, representation & knowledge graphs
  • Large Language Models (LLMs) in context
  • The emergence of large datasets & data-driven Machine Learning
  • Issues with each paradigm and how they complement one another

Machine Learning & Deep Learning

Core machine learning concepts through to deep architectures, with hands-on application:
  • Regression & classification techniques
  • Clustering methods
  • Deep learning architectures — CNNs & RNNs (conceptual)

The generative frontier — concepts and practice for building modern AI applications:
