Rusin Thathsara a Level 4 Facilities Management undergraduate of the Department of Building Economics won 3rd place in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Spotter 60 Shots category at the Inter-University Individual Qualifying Competition 2025, held at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Security Training School Shooting Range in Colombo. Rusin is the first student from the University of Moratuwa to participate in and secure a place in this category in the university's history. His coach, Ms. Ruwini Abeymanna, is a proud Olympian and the first Sri Lankan woman to represent the country in the Sydney Air Pistol Competition in 2000. Rusin received his certificate from the President of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Admiral Sirimavo Ranasinghe.
