QS Careers Day 2.0: Empowering Future Quantity Surveyors for the Professional World

The QS Careers Day 2.0, held on the 26th of March 2025, was a key highlight of the academic calendar for the Department of Building Economics. Organized by the Building Economics Students’ Society (BESS), the event aimed to support final-year Quantity Surveying undergraduates in preparing for a successful transition from university to the professional construction industry.
In the lead-up to the main event, a series of sessions were conducted to equip students with essential career-readiness skills. These sessions covered crucial topics such as Interview Etiquette, CV Preparation, Personal Branding, and Career Guidance. Delivered by experienced industry professionals, the sessions offered students practical insights and tips on how to present themselves confidently and professionally in job interviews and workplace environments.
Primarily targeting Level 4 students who are nearing the completion of their degrees, QS Careers Day 2.0 provided a valuable platform for students to engage directly with industry professionals and potential employers. The event not only showcased career opportunities but also fostered meaningful interactions between students and representatives from leading firms in the construction and quantity surveying sectors. The event was a resounding success, leaving students better prepared, more confident, and eager to step into the professional world as the next generation of competent and dynamic quantity surveyors.
