The University of Moratuwa held its Award Ceremony on 8th October 2024, recognizing exceptional achievements in research. From the Department of Building Economics, eleven members were honored with the Outstanding Research Performance Award with Distinction for the year 2022. The awardees include Mr. M.D.T.E. Abeynayake, Dr. H. Chandanie, Mr. P.A.P.V.D.S. Disaratna, Dr. P.K.S.V.S. Gunatilake, Prof. U. Kulatunga, Prof. B.A.K.S. Perera, Prof. Dr. T. Ramachandra, Dr. K.A.T.O. Ranadewa, Prof. Y. Sandandanayake, Dr. M. Thayaparan, and Prof. K.G.A.S. Waidyasekara. Their remarkable contributions to advancing research and academic excellence have brought pride to the department and the university. The award ceremony further highlighted the remarkable achievements of students from the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 intakes of the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Architecture. Agana Parameshwaran, a former member of the Department of Building Economics, and Ashinshana Ilangakoon, now a lecturer, were honored with the Best Dissertation Award for their respective academic years, showcasing their dedication to academic excellence and innovation.
