Level 04 Students Explore Decision-Making Research

On 6th February 2025, the Department of Building Economics organized a guest lecture for Level 04 undergraduates on the topic “Applying Bayesian Belief Network in Decision-Making Research.” The session was delivered by Dr. Su Su Nwal, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Thammasat University.

Dr. Nwal introduced students to the fundamentals of Bayesian Belief Networks (BBNs) and their application in decision-making within the built environment. The lecture explained how BBNs can be used to model uncertainties, assess risks, and support informed decision-making in complex scenarios.

Through real-world examples and research insights, students gained an understanding of how this analytical tool contributes to better decision-making in construction-related research. The session helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and advanced data-driven methodologies, encouraging students to consider innovative approaches in their own academic and professional work.
