Guest Lecture Highlights the Future of Quantity Surveying in the Digital Age

The Department of Building Economics organized an insightful guest lecture on “Future-Proofing the Profession: Advanced Technologies and the Evolving Quantity Surveyor” on the 24th of May 2025 for Level 2 Quantity Surveying undergraduates. The session was delivered by Sr Dr Nazirul Fariq, Product and Growth Strategy Director of Asia International, Glodon Company Limited.
Dr Fariq highlighted the rapid technological transformation within the quantity surveying profession and stressed the importance of adapting to these changes. He discussed emerging digital tools and global trends that are reshaping traditional practices, encouraging students to embrace innovation and digital fluency as essential competencies for their future careers. The session inspired students to reflect on their role in a technology-driven industry and encouraged them to embrace the challenges of an evolving construction landscape.
