The Department of Building Economics hosted the External Reviewer Visit for the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and BSc (Hons) in Facilities Management degree programs on the 12th and 13th of August 2025.
The review panel included Professor David Proverbs from De Montfort University, UK, along with Ch.QS. A. N. Jayadeva and Ch.QS/FM. Elmo Fernando. Over the two-day visit, the panel held discussions with staff and students, reviewed student work including examination papers, continuous assessments, and dissertations and toured university facilities. They also evaluated the progress made in addressing the recommendations from the previous External Reviewer Visit.
At the conclusion of the visit, the panel prepared a detailed report offering constructive recommendations to further enhance the programs. The overall outcome was positive, with the review affirming the Department’s commitment to continuous improvement and its readiness to meet the demands of a rapidly changing educational landscape.
