The Department of Building Economics organized the annual External Examiners' Visitation for the B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and B.Sc. (Hons) in Facilities Management degree programs from 7th to 9th June 2023 via hybrid mode, combining online meetings and physical inspections.
A distinguished panel of experts formed the examination panel, including Prof. Alison Cotgrave from the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment at Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. Joining her were Ch. QS A. N. Jayadeva, Director of Cost Management Services (Pvt) Ltd, and Ch. QS W.B. Elmo F.J. Fernando, General Manager of Overseas Realty Ceylon PLC.
During the visitation, the examination panel diligently reviewed the formative and summative assessment strategies employed by the department. Additionally, they assessed the quality of facilities provided to the students and engaged in insightful discussions about the learning experience with the students themselves.
