Level 2 Quantity Surveying undergraduates Tharindu Weerasinghe, Adeesha Jayasinghe and Sewmini Perera from the Department of Building Economics, were honoured with University Colours at the Colours Awarding Ceremnony, 2024 held on the 28th of March 2025 in recognition of their achievements and dedication towards their sports while representing the university. Tharindu Weerasinghe brought pride to the university by securing a 3rd place finish in the below 57kg weight class in Wrestling at the Inter-Univesity Games, 2024. Adeesha Jayasinghe, who is a pivotal part of the university carrom team was recognized for her outstanding performances contributing to the university's success in carrom. Sewmini Perera received colours for her contributions to the Women's Hockey Team in which she played a significant role. The achievements of these students do not only reflect their excellence in the field, but also their skills in time management, discipline and consistency as balancing academic responsibilities and sporting commitments. These awards are also a reflection of the individuals who have helped them to achieve these milestones, including their coaches, families and the university itself.
