Following the 12th World Construction Symposium 2024, the CIOB Green Awards Night 2024 was held to celebrate the award winners of the scientific papers as well as professionals and organizations promoting green buildings, products, and practices. The prestigious event took place on 10th August 2024 at the Taj Samudra Colombo and was graced by Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Ananda Jayawardena, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa, as the guest of honour. The event celebrated outstanding research with awards, including the BEPAM Best Paper Award for a study on regulatory and legal frameworks in construction, and CIOB Best Paper Award for streamlining land acquisition in Sri Lanka. Highly Commended Papers addressed energy performance standards and climate change mitigation.
