Alumni Contributions Strengthen Academic Support at the Department of Building Economics

The Department of Building Economics received two significant contributions on 9th August 2025, reflecting the continued commitment of its alumni to enriching academic and student support initiatives.
The 20th Batch of the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying programme, generously donated a smart board to the Department to strengthen the delivery of teaching and learning. The smart board was ceremonially handed over to Professor Anuradha Waidyasekara, Head of the Department, at an event held at the Department Auditorium.
On the same occasion, the Quantity Surveying Alumni Association (QSAA) launched a laptop loan scheme aimed at assisting undergraduates facing financial difficulties. Through this scheme, five students will annually be offered an interest-free loan facility to purchase laptops to support their academic activities. To inaugurate the initiative, QSAA committee members officially handed over five laptops to the Department during the launch ceremony.
These initiatives are a strong testament to the enduring bond between the Department and its alumni community. The Department extends its sincere gratitude to the alumni for their generosity and continued support in advancing academic programs and empowering undergraduates in their university journey.
