The final year students of the Department of Architecture excelled in the Viva voce examination of the “Comprehensive Design Project” (CDP). Out of 63 students who faced the viva voce examination, one outstanding student received an “A+” grade for her design project while four students received A grades, and two received A- grades. 51 students were successful at the CDP examination which was held in two stages; Internal Assessment and External Moderation from 07 to 16 October. The Internal Moderators were Dr G Weerasinghe, Prof MS Manawadu, Archt DP Chandrasekara, Archt Varuna de Silva, Archt Amanda Rajapakse and Dr Milinda Pathiraja.
Prof Alexander Wright, University of Bath, United Kingdom, Archt Rajeev Kathpalia, an Architect, Urban Designer, Planner and partner of Vastu Shilpa Consultants, India and Madhura Prematilleke, Chartered Architect and Principal of Team Architrave, Sri Lanka were the external moderators at the 2015 examination. The CDP is the culmination point of the five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree programme which is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) UK and exempted from their Part Two examination.
