About FARU
Welcome to the Faculty of Architecture Research Unit (FARU) of University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. FARU is the Research Unit of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka . FARU is built on the following five academic Departments of the Faculty

- Department of Town and Country Planning
- Department of Building Economics
- Department of Integrated Design
- Department of Facilities Management
FARU provides a space to discuss and exchange viewpoints among researchers, professionals, academics and industry experts within allied fields of study. As such it is providng a platform for interdisciplinary colloboration.
Aim of FARU
Faculty of Architecture Research Unit (FARU) of University of Moratuwa aims at promoting a distinctive research culture across all its disciplines i.e. architecture, planning, building economics, integrated design and facilities management. Diversity of the FARU represented in the wide range of research undertaken by the faculty staff and students, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
FARU is undergoing a fundamental effort to develop a practice led research base, which will both enable and guide the industry and policy implementation programs of the country. As part of the effort, organising an annual international conference, publishing quarterly newsletters, undertaking research consultancies, conducting regular research colloquiums for the staff and postgraduate students can lead the Faculty of Architecture a local leadership role in making the built environment responsive and relevant.
FARU advances research collaborations with international universities with the initiatives and participation from the research faculty uniquely credentialed to address problems and needs related to national and global built environment issues.
