Architect Narein Perera, was awarded the 2014 Inaugural 'Architecture Asia Award for Emerging Architects' as a part of the Architects Regional Council of Asia(ARCASIA) and Asian Congress of Architects (ACA) sessions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The design competition drew over 50 entries from 'Asia's Best' young architects under the age of 45 years. 21 short listed Architects were invited to Kuala Lumpur to present thier schemes to an international panel of judges prior to final judging and awards. Entries were judged based on the main criteria of sustainability, creativity and innovation, and contribution to architectural design and technology.
Architect Perera's entry was his design for an 'Estate Bungalow' in Matugama, Sri Lanka.
