Level 4 studio visits #88Acres Exhibition at Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka

#88Acres exhibition on Sri Lanka’s first woman architect, South Asia’s first woman to have associate membership of the RIBA, Minette de Silva. The solo exhibition of the architect is focused on the Walapuluwa housing scheme, where she has explored a participatory design process. The three - year research project into her work has also unearthed that de Silva has published her work as ‘Experiments in the Modern - Regional’, 30 years before it was established as a critique of modern architecture. The locality approach is evident in the architectural endeavors of Minette de Silva.
