The Faculty of IT students showcased their talents at the Future Minds 2014 exhibition which took place at BMICH from 6th to 8th June 2014. Future Minds is an annual event organized by the Old boys' association of Nalanda College, Colombo and was held for the 9th consecutive year in 2014.

The University of Moratuwa (UOM) held its 34th convocation on July 31, 2013at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) and conferred 1096 Bachelor Degrees, 356 Postgraduate Diplomas, degrees and other awards including four PhDs and five MPhils.

Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Charles Darwin University Professor Sharon Bell visited the University of Moratuwa on July 4th 2014 and discussed certain areas of mutual importance to both Universities.

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) introduced in 2006 a scheme of awards called “CVCD Excellence Awards” to be awarded once in two years to recognize, appreciate and honor the outstanding contributions and accomplishments in research, innovation and invention by the staff in the University system.

Representative of Keimyung University, Korea, Mr. Jung, Chul Jong together with representive from Thilange Sumathipala foundation visited the University of Moratuwa on September 02nd 2014 to discuss about School Supportive Programme named “Development of School” within the perspective of an overall collaboration programme involving research, student – staff exchange etc.
