A team of academics of the University of Oulu, Finland led by Professor Matti Latva-Aho, Head, Department of Communication Engineering met the Vice Chancellor Professor Ananda Jayewardane, University of Moratuwa on 24th March 2015 and signed a General Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation

Professor David T. Gamage from Faculty of Education & Arts, University of Newcastle visited UOM, Sri Lanka on 28th April 2015 and discussed the views, suggestions and proposed regarding the collaboration with Australian Universities.

The Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering has been engaged in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology Development since 2007. First autopilot was successfully tested on 12.12.2012, First medium scale UAV named RAVAN was flight tested for aerodynamic stability on 2nd February 2014

Faculty of the Information Technology and the Centre for Distance Learning (CODL) of the University of Moratuwa took part in the FUTURE MINDS Higher Educational and Career Exhibition 2015 held at S-BMICH from June 19th to 21st 2015. UOM was among other state universities present.

The Annual General Meeting and Networking Evening 2015 of the Alumni Association University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 09thJuly 2015 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.

A Meeting with a team lead by Mr. Keith Davis, Country Director, British Council was held on 19^th May 2015 at the University Main Boardroom. The objective of this meeting was to discuss different projects with the University of Moratuwa, including jewellery design, typography and especially architecture. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor.

Vice Chancellor - Professor Helen Marshall, Head of School – Professor Hisham Elkadi, Deputy Head of Schol – Mr. David Baldry, Dr. Udayangani Kulatunga and Dr. Ingirige Bingunath from University of Salford visited University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka on 27th July 2015 and discussed about the progress of signed MOU.

The Canadian Government has launched ‘The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship Program’ to attract 1,500 scholarship recipients to the Universities in Canada over a period of five years and develop academic programmes between the governments of Canada and Sri Lanka. 

36th General Convocation of University of Moratuwa was held on 21st of September 2015 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). The Chancellor of the University, VidyaJyothi Professor Emeritus KKYW Perera, presided the Convocation Ceremony. It was attended by the graduands with their parents, distinguished invitees, as well as the academic and administrative staff of the University.
