The Computer Aided Process Design (CAPD) Centre facilitates the chemical and process engineering undergraduates with hands-on experience in computer-aided drafting and design for developing engineering drawings, process modelling, and process simulation for process design and plant equipment design projects, especially the final year Comprehensive Design Project (CDP).
CAPD Centre offers a wide range of software packages, such as MS Office packages, BricsCAD, Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys, GNU Octave, Scilab, BioWin, DWSIM, OpenLCA, R Software, RStudio, and many other engineering-related software packages.
These software packages are required for process design, modelling, and simulation project work as well as facilitate undergraduate/postgraduate research.
In addition, the CAPD Centre is equipped with classroom facilities, a seating capacity of 86 undergraduates at once with around 50 desktop computers as well as the facility for the undergraduates to plug their own Laptop and Work for their individual/group project work, which enhances the facilities for peer learning.
