The Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Moratuwa proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of four outstanding students from the department, who secured 2nd Place Overall at the prestigious Fall 2024 ChemE-Sports competition, organized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
The team, consisting of Sumal Sathruwan, Reshan Vidanapathirana, Chamudi Wijerathne, and Shashiprabha Amarindi, demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork to emerge as Runners-Up of the competition, contesting against nearly 65 teams from across the globe.
Key Achievements:
- 1st Place in Round One – Smooth Operator Award
- 3rd Place in Round Two – Expert Award
- 1st Place in Round Three – Master of Disaster Award
The team’s outstanding performance has once again earned international recognition for the university, highlighting their technical expertise, strategic problem-solving, and collaborative spirit.
