University of Moratuwa and Greenstat Hydrogen Forge Partnership to Advance Green Hydrogen Technologies

The University of Moratuwa (UoM) and Greenstat Hydrogen Private Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at advancing hydrogen technologies and green energy solutions in Sri Lanka.

This strategic partnership supports the national agenda for Green Hydrogen development and leverages UoM’s renowned research expertise to strengthen Sri Lanka’s position in the regional renewable energy value chain.

The signing ceremony took place with the participation of key representatives from both institutions. Representing the University of Moratuwa were Senior Professor Niranjan Gunawardena, Vice Chancellor; Professor Jagath Manathunga, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Mr. D.L.D. Jayantha, Registrar; and Dr. G.V.I. Samaradivakara, Director, International Relations. Also present was Professor M.Y. Gunasekara, Head of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, underscoring the academic significance of the collaboration.

Greenstat Hydrogen was represented by Mr. Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chairman of the Board. Spanning a period of five years, the MoU focuses on applied research, technological innovation, and knowledge exchange — marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s journey toward a sustainable and carbon-neutral energy future.
