The Old Anandians' Medical Guild's Annual Academic Session on July 15, 2023, witnessed a momentous gathering of healthcare professionals, educators, and researchers at the picturesque venue of Waters Edge in Colombo. The event provided a platform for thought-provoking discussions on collaborative healthcare practices and featured a keynote address by Senior Professor Ajith de Alwis, a distinguished Anandian and a senior professor of Chemical and Process Engineering at University of Moratuwa.
Event proceedings commenced by the speech of Dr. Anil Jasinghe, the president of the Old Anandians’ Medical Guild and the Secretary of Ministry of Environment. The stage was graced by the speeches from professor Athula Kaluarachchi, Executive president of the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association. The second academic sessions of the Guild were decorated with the keynote speech of Senior professor Ajith de Alwis, themed "Breaking down silos for an influential Sri Lanka,". It was focused on highlighting the influence medical professionals can and should have towards a better Sri Lanka away from the recent collapse of the economy and many other aspects. “What sort of ideas comes to your head as professionals, as people who have knowledge with the ability to contribute, to move away from this situation.
