In a grand celebration of academic excellence and achievements, Rajarata University held its 23rd Convocation Ceremony on July 26, 2023. The ceremony, split into three sessions, celebrated the accomplishments of graduates from the Faculty of Applied Science and the Faculty of Technology. The event was graced by a distinguished Guest of Honour and speaker for the first session Ajith P. de Alwis, senior professor in Chemical and Process Engineering at University of Moratuwa.

He was warmly welcomed for the keynote speech by the dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences of University of Rajarata, professor E.M.R.K.B. Edirisinghe, highlighting senior professor Alwis’s achievements in academia and research areas. Senior professor Alwis shared his insights on the historical and scientific significance of the city of Mihinthale and the kingdom of Rajarata. His speech resonated deeply with the audience, offering a perfect blend of academic wisdom and real-world experience, recognising the dedication and the sacrifices made by the audience and the responsibility they will now have to shoulder.
