Senior Professor Ajith de Alwis of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa has been appointed as the Chairman of National Mirror Committee on ISO14000 (Sri Lanka Standards Institute). He has been a member in the Advisory committee to environmental management system certification scheme (ADEMSCS) since 2012. The responsibilities of ADEMSCS are providing technical advices to smooth functioning of operations of the Environmental management systems (EMS), preparing improvement plans for the EMS scheme and resolving technical issues in identified scope sectors.
