Ms. Upuli Perera of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa was conferred to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the General Convocation Ceremony held on the 24th August 2020. Dr. Upuli was conducting research on the topic ‘efficient and clean energy from local firewood’ under the supervision of Professor Mahinsasa Narayana, and it was aimed at understanding the clean and efficient combustion of local rubber and gliricidia in typical packed bed furnaces found in Sri Lanka through numerical modelling.
