The month of June brings forth two of the most important dates dedicated to the protection and conservation of the environment—World Environment Day on June 5 and World Oceans Day on June 8. In lieu of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day the Ministry of Environment, CEA (Central Environmental Authority) and MEPA (Marine Environment Protection Agency), have organized events to celebrate and discuss the betterment of the Environment and Ocean. Professor Ajith De Alwis, dean faculty of graduate studies graced the events with his presence, sharing his views and expertise with the attendees.
Professor De Alwis presented the keynote speech at the Global Environmental Day - 2022, National Celebration Event organized by the Ministry of Environment, held on June 3rd, 2022, at Sobadam Piyasa Auditorium, Battaramulla. Discussing the Global Environment Day – 2022, a webinar was hosted by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) on June 5th under the topic “Few ideas to our Island” with the presence of Professor De Alwis.
