In the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, we are dedicated to aligning our curriculum and undergraduate program delivery with real-world needs and developments. One crucial initiative we have undertaken in this regard is inviting industry practitioners for guest lectures during the delivery of subjects. An illustrative example of this effort is when we invited Anushka Umayanga and Rasika Priyadharshika from IFS Global Consulting Delivery to deliver a valuable lecture and engage in discussion on Industry 4.0 practices in the offshore oil industry. This session was tailored for students enrolled in CH4360 - Downstream Processing of Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals and CH4380 - Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Industry. The students found the session essential for understanding the latest trends in the petroleum industry and actively participated in a two-hour lecture and subsequent discussion with the resource persons
