The undergraduates of the 24 batch of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering participated in a First Aid Program conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Moratuwa, on 30th October 2025. This training was facilitated by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU), University of Moratuwa, and coordinated by Ms. Dasuni De Silva.

The program strengthened students’ emergency preparedness by introducing essential first-aid principles and practical techniques required to manage a range of medical situations confidently and safely. The training covered a wide range of critical areas such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR; Heat Stress, Environmental Hazards and Choking; Chemical Exposure, Eye Injuries and Patient Transportation; Mechanical Injuries; Burns, Scalds and Electrocution; Applying Bandages and Slings; Falls, Slips and Head Injuries; Stress, Panic Management and Psychological First Aid; and Disaster Management and Triage.
Such initiatives play a vital role in preparing future engineers to uphold safety, responsibility, and professional competence in both academic and industrial environments.
